Hardcore for hardcore? Yes. Also for watching the end of the world, but with a shit-eating grin because you’ve got these tracks to remind you no one gives a fuck. “You Can’t Win” spits in your ears all the problems in society; “mental health, homelessness, incarceration, drugs and addiction, we all lose and face the same fate in the end.” TOTAL DEFEAT have worked hard for a few years following their 2021 EP, “Dreg”, and the proof is all right here (and the fact they scrapped a fully recorded EP in between to write/re-write enough tracks for this LP) and in their live shows which have become notorious for some silly behaviour from crowds and the band.
