Blacksound Records is a specialist record store in Brunswick, Melbourne, dedicated to radical outsider music — contemporary music at the cutting edge of heavy, noisy, minimal, maximal and experimental practice.

We stock new and second hand music on vinyl, CD and tape, with an emphasis on underground metal and punk, noise and electronic music, jazz, free improvisation and unconventional thinking.

Alongside records, you'll find books, zines and merchandise, regular in-store performances and events, and an outdoor courtyard where you're welcome to hang out.

Founded in 2024 by Melbourne musician Lewis Fischer, Blacksound Records grew out of decades spent participating in the international underground music community. What began in a spare bedroom quickly outgrew the space, moving into a permanent shopfront at 351 Sydney Road, Brunswick in November that year.

Blacksound Records is open from 10AM to 6PM on Monday – Saturday, and 10AM to 5PM on Sunday. We are open on public holidays, subject to notice. You can reach us during business hours on 03 9191 4764.
