Sonic Youth – Goo LP (Rare / Used, NM)

Originally released in 1990l, this iconic major-label debut from underground icons Sonic Youth was in many ways "The Shape of Alt. Rock to Come". One year before Nirvana's Nevermind blew the gates off the underground and the majors suddenly found themselves in the midst of a signing frenzy the likes of which had never been seen before (in which bands as strange and diverse as The Butthole Surfers, Melvins, Boredoms and Ween found themselves with major contracts), Sonic Youth released this solid-gold classic through Geffen. Steve Albini might have called them sellouts for it, but if this album hadn't led Kim Gordon to convince Kurt to sign major, the course of history as we know it could have been completely different.
