Snailgun – Glass Walls CD
Label: Undunn
Genre: Noise Rock, Post-punk, Local
Debut album from Naarm post-punk noise rock band Snailgun. Aggressive and clangy guitars with catchy hooks and hypnotic rhythms. For fans of Shellac, The Jesus Lizard, Gang of Four, Dinosaur Jr, SST, Dischord, Touch & Go, and AmRep.
The band is Adam Osth on guitar and vocals, Daniel Little (formerly of Perth no-fi noiseniks Red Music and Vincent Price) on bass and vocals, and Sam Maher (who also plays in Great Falls and Cold Open) on drums. Their debut LP Glass Walls sees the band pushing their post-punk sound with extended rhythmic sections reminiscent of krautrock jams and late 70's post punk alongside lyrics that combine an oblique commentary with wry humour. The album adds a new dimension to their sound, honed to a fine point with their frenetic live show. Four tracks were recorded and engineered by Jason Fuller at Goatsound Records in April 2025. The remaining four tracks were recorded and engineered by Max Ducker at Cellar Sessions Studios in September 2025. The album was mastered by Al Smith of Bergerk Studios. The band are joined by David Waldie (of Gun Laws) on tenor sax for their traditional set-closer, Labyrinth. "Even at the band’s most frantic, the sonic foundation stays anchored down without losing its feeling of spontaneity, and it never runs out of steam." (Cooked Rat, Sept 2025).
