The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) — out now via Flying Nun Records and Leather Jacket Records — is post-punk band Ringlets’ (Aotearoa / New Zealand) shimmering follow-up to their distinct sold out eponymous debut in 2023, and a vibrant expression of their singular song craft. Produced by Ringlets and Michael Logie (The Mint Chicks) in Auckland at The Lab and mixed by Isaac Keating at Abbey Road Studios, The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) conjures mystic visions; takes raucous, unkempt yet solely committed turns, twists, and tiptoes delicately between the absurd and the divine. Formed in 2021, the fiercely dynamic post-punk quartet Ringlets emerged from Aotearoa's vibrant music scene, creating their own niche with a unique mix of sharp wit, raw energy, and impressive sonic precision. Featuring a rock-solid, rhythm section honed by experience (Arabella Poulsen, Arlo Grey) and two of Auckland’s top talents in lyrical and melodic composition (László Reynolds, Leith Towers), Ringlets have quickly established a strong and growing reputation.
