Fluttering Between The Light And Nothing, Issue #01 BK/Zine

The artworks in Fluttering Between The Light And Nothing were created primarily between 2024 and 2025, drawn predominantly in ink and pen during the forming of The Sailor and The Sea exhibition. The exhibition was held in October 2025 at Current Gallery, by Fremantle port, overlooking the Indian Ocean.

The works were created mainly in Fremantle and Montreal, with frequent trips to New York. This collection represents the sailor and the artist as metaphors for one another. 

Just as the sailor navigates uncertain environments and explores the unknown, so too does the artist, both with the primary aim to bring back something of nourishment to a community, be it soulful, fishy, or both.
